Royse about her new single: «A little madness is always good. Life would be boring without it»
Daniela Azevedo – Hi Royse, please tell us a bit about yourself?
Royse – I am a singer and songwriter from Texas who now lives in Los Angeles. I just released my single ‘Madness’ from my first album “Royse”.
DA – When did you realise you wanted to be a singer?
R – I always say this, but I feel like it chose me. It’s just something I always knew and had to do. It’s how I release my feelings, and get my heart out. Music can relate to you when no one else can.
DA – Your personal story is hard. What would you like to say to people that are facing the same problems?
R – Life can be very hard and lots of time you feel like you want to give up. But don’t!! You will get through it, keep fighting. You are not alone. You are stronger than you think you are.
DA – Do you think that a little ‘Madness’ is needed in our daily lives?
R – OH YEAH! It definitely keeps life fun. A little madness is always good. Life would be boring without it.
DA – How would you describe your music? Pop? Dance?
R – I would describe it as pop, but my hope is that my music relates to all people and they can know they are not alone and whatever they are going through, I’m with them on that.
DA – Adrian Gurvitz was very popular in Portugal, back to the 80’s, due to his ‘Classic’ hit. I don’t know if you were born then but do you like his music or prefer his career as a guitar player? Did you enjoy working with him?
R – I love his music. Adrian is such a legend. He is such a musical genius. Working with him has been amazing. I’ve learned so much from him and he’s taught me so much. It’s a dream come true to work with a legend.
